There are three preemption statutes in the weapons regulation category. Two are in reference to firearms and a third to knife manufacturing. Below is a list of the statutes, the title, a brief description of what they do, and when they were adopted.
This statute prevents municipalities from requiring fees, licenses, or permits in regard to firearms sales, purchases, transfers, ownership, storage, carrying, transporting or taxation.

This statute prevents municipalities from operating a gun buyback program using dollars derived from taxes. It does not prevent such programs if they are funded by grants.

This statute prevents municipalities from regulating, imposing taxes upon, or requiring licenses or registrations for any knife sales, purchases, transfers, possession, transportation, or use. It further states that no ordinance, resolution or regulation relating to the manufacture of a knife can be more restrictive than any such ordinance, resolution or regulation relating to the manufacture of any other commercial goods.
